マウント・プレザント市から高校生がやってきます!

今年の夏、姉妹都市であるマウント・プレザント市（アメリカ合衆国・ミシガン州）から派遣される高校生を受け入れていただくホストファミリーを募集します。

マウント・プレザント市と岡谷市は、姉妹都市交流の一環として、1年ごとに高校生を相互派遣しています。

派遣される高校生は、約2週間、一般家庭にホームステイしながら異国の生活や文化を体験します。

この経験を通して、異文化への関心や理解を深め、将来、両市の国際交流を担う人材になってほしいと願って、平成元年（1989年）からこの事業を続けてきました。

これまでに岡谷市が派遣した高校生は約70人、マウント・プレザント市から受け入れた高校生は約80人にのぼります。

As part of the sister city student exchange program held once a year, Mount Pleasant and Okaya take turns sending high school students over to one another. The students do a 2 week homestay and experience a different way of life, unique culture, and new foods. Through this experience, we hope the students will achieve personal growth, develop an interest in foreign cultures, and continue to play an active role in the future sister city relationship. Since 1989, we have sent 70 students and welcomed 80 students.
